Founded in 1879 as the First Norwegian Evangelical Church, First Lutheran is located at 623 Kasan Avenue on the southwestern edge of Volga. Groups within the church include Sunday School, Women of the Evangelical Church in America, Men of the Evangelical Church in America, Senior High and Junior High Fellowship, a cemetery association, Just Older Youth (JOY) group for senior citizens and choir. A major remodeling/construction project began in 1994, adding much needed space while enhancing the beauty of the original architecture. The facility is handicap accessible.

The First Reformed Church celebrated 100 years of God's faithfulness to the congregation in July of 2004. The church was formally organized in October 1904. The church is located on the northeastern edge of Volga at 601 East First Street. Groups within the church include TLC (Junior High Youth Group), Senior High Youth Group, Sunday School for all ages, Reformed Church Women, and several small group Bible studies. First Reformed is handicap accessible.
